We thought to update our old Lumia 520 which is still market leader worldwide for windows phone.

So lets begin and see whats the complete experience in using lumia 520 eith windows 10 mobile.

#INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE:

With the latest cumulative update I am really impressed with installation experience of Windows 10 mobile. Download size is around 200 mb, As compared to 800 mb. It is not mentioned anywhere but by considering the update time I can say that. In Total, it takes around one hour for the complete download and install. This is fairly impressive. Also earlier installation needs re-installation of many apps, that has also been removed.

#FIRST IMPRESSION:

Immediately after installing the build the phone got freeze and I do need to remove the battery to get it back again, after the reboot again I did notice improvements over performance in 520, even the boot time seems to be a less as compared to previous build too. I was expecting to get same lag and delays in apps opening and resuming but boy I am impressed with this build. And during the use of 4 hours phone got freeze thrice, this is something Microsoft has fix and even many or our readers have also reported the same issues on their devices too. But yeah after using for some hours device started working kind of smooth not as expected from lumia 520 since I am running insider builds from very long time on lumia 520.

#PERFORMANCE TEST:

Now lets see how is the device performing actually. I opened many apps frequently and see how things goes. Following re the apps that I have opened in the order and expected opening performance is written in bracket

  • Windows Store [Smooth]
  • Microsoft Edge [Smooth]
  • Windows Camera [Smooth]
  • People App [Smooth]
  • Calendar [Fast]
  • Outlook [Fast]
  • Maps [Smooth]
  • Settings Menu [Fast]
  • Messaging [Fast]
  • Twitter [Smooth]
  • OneDrive [Smooth]
  • WhatsApp [OK]
  • Facebook [OK]
  • Skype [Slow]
  • OneNote [Fast]
  • Word [Fast]

As you can see overall we can say most of the apps opens fine, considering the device specifications we are accepting this performance.

#FINAL VERDICT:

being a huge phone of lumia 520 as it is being a Nokia device and also its my first windows phone too, I really hoped that lumia 520 will work as smooth as it should be. I posted many videos of lumia 520 showing the performance. But i did really enjoyed this time. If MS keeps working like that I will definitely say that go ahead and update the lumia
520.

#ANY ISSUES or BUGS:

Still there are lots of issues to be fixed for, as mentioned in earlier first impression of lumia 520 also,
